The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for bringing rotating parts, for example work beds, and/or their fastening devices into equilibrium. The arrangement comprises an annular closed channel formed in the part 1 that is to be balanced, the channel being situated essentially around the axis of rotation of the part that is to be balanced, and a metal compound 6 with a low melting temperature, which is placed in the said channel and which in the molten state acts as a balancing fluid tending towards the equilibrium position of the part when the latter rotates. Once the said metal compound 6 has solidified, it maintains the said equilibrium position. In the method according to the invention for bringing the part 1 provided with the said annular channel into equilibrium, the part is made to rotate at the required speed and the metal compound is heated so that it will melt, the metal compound in the molten state acting as balancing fluid tending towards the equilibrium position of the part, following which the compound is allowed to cool and solidify, thereby maintaining the equilibrium position. <IMAGE>
