The invention relates to a method for constructing a dwelling of the prefabricated type, comprising a floor element (1) equipped with a structure for transverse median fitting and a structure for peripheral fitting, a partition wall (12) and two facade walls (16) joined mechanically in such a way as to form, when seen in a plan view, an H-shaped structure in which the partition wall (12) is gripped between the facade walls (16), and two side walls (21, 22) joined to the facade walls (16), the said partition, facade and side walls additionally having, in their lower parts, a matching structure for engagement of the transverse and peripheral fitting structures, respectively, of the floor element (1). <IMAGE>
