The invention provides that a soft resin impregnated lining tube (36) known per se is applied to a sewer pipe surface by placing the lining tube (36) in the pipe and by inflating the lining tube (36) onto the said surface by everting an inflation tube into the lining tube (36), the invention being characterised in that the sewage (26) is used as the everting medium. The invention also comprises the use of a particle radiation source (52) as the means for curing the resin and a novel particle radiation source (52) is set forth.
