<p>An operation device including an accelerometer (s) for outputting a signal relating to deceleration at the time of collision of a vehicle, a central processing unit (16) for calculating signals from the accelerometer (s), first and second memories (17), (18) disposed to be differently identified by the central processing unit (16), and an ignition circuit (6) for activating a crew protection apparatus on the basis of the signal from the central processing unit (16). The first memory (17) is a read-only memory to form a one-chip microcomputer (2) along with the central processing unit (16) and the second memory (18) is a writable memory. The first memory (17) stores an algorithm for calculating signals from the accelerometer (s) and the second memory (18) stores parameters used for the calculation. The parameters are numerical values determined after collision tests of the vehicle, are different from model to model of a vehicle and are specific numerals each corresponding to a specific model. In other words, the present invention is characterized in that those parameters which cannot be determined before the vehicle tests can later be written into an EEPROM as the second memory (18) which is separate from the first memory (17) such as a MASKROM of the one-chip microcomputer (2).</p> |
