The present invention pertains to a sliding component (1) and a method for manufacturing the sliding component. The sliding component (1) is provided with: a base part (10) comprising steel or cast iron; and a sliding part (20) that has a sliding surface (20A), comprises a copper alloy containing hard particles, and is bonded to the base part (10). The hard particles, which are present in a region that includes the outer periphery (22) of the interface between the sliding part (20) and the base part (10), are arranged such that, compared to the inner peripheral side, the longitudinal direction coincides with the direction along the outer periphery. The present invention thus enables the durability of the region that includes the outer periphery of the interface between the sliding part and the base part to be improved. |
