The blind has a shutter made of self-supporting, insulating slats (1) which are attached to each other by a reversible mechanism which lowers and raises the shutter. It has two tubular motors (5, 7) with braking and speed reducers, which are controlled electrically. These function alternatively activating two belts (2, 3) at the sides which are attached to the last slat in the shutter. The belts pass inside two runners (8, 9) and are rolled around two cylindrical shafts (4, 6) which always turn together and in opposite directions so that two opposing forces are exerted on the top and bottom slats. The shutter is guided by two castors (10, 11) at the entrance of the runners (9, 10). The mechanism is protected from the weather by housings (15, 16) and a brush seal (14) fixed to the edge of the housing and a tongued seal (13) attached to the upper section of each runner (8, 9). The slats are filled with insulating foam (12). The motors and the cylindrical shafts can be placed at either end or both at the upper end.
