To render material inert while stored in silos, and the like, for protection against explosion or oxidation, the density of the inert gas is varied by its mixture to match the density of the ambient air. Also claimed is an assembly where the inert gas store (1) has at least one store (3, 4) for the inert additive components to be mixed, connected to the feed channel (10) by channels (12, 13) with control valves (14, 15). A control unit (5) is linked to an analysis unit (6) which has sensors (7, 8) to register the density within the silo (2) and the ambient environment, with control links to the valves (11, 14, 15). |
