The milk meter is most clearly described as an appliance, which measures the flow of milk in the milk pipeline of the milking unit. The appliance consists of a vertically placed container, separated by a partition into a reception camera and a measuring camera. Both cameras are connected with a borehole in the partition. In the reception camera, a float is made with a hollow stem, in which a borehole is made in the top part, while on the bottom part a sealing gland is mounted to close the borehole in the partition. When the measuring camera is filled with milk, the float lifts, and is connected with the atmosphere by the borehole in the hollow stem of the float. Simultaneously, the sealing gland closes the borehole in the partition, while the top of the float stem activates the counting mechanism for the counting of milk portions. After the suction of milk from the measuring camera, the pressure in both cameras equalizes, the float with the sealing gland descends, a new portion of milk flows into the measuring camera, and the cycle is repeated.<IMAGE>
