The invention relates to an apparatus for conveying and discharging flat, preferably flexible articles (100), in particular printed products, and to a corresponding operating method. The apparatus comprises a plurality of grippers (10) which can be moved in a conveying direction (F) along a continuous conveying path (U) defined by a conveying mechanism (20). The grippers (10) comprise a first gripper jaw (11) and a second gripper jaw (12), which can assume a clamping position and an open position relative to one another. The first gripper jaw (11) is longer than the second gripper jaw (12) and comprises a first gripper part (13), which in the clamping position interacts with the second gripper jaw (12), and a second gripper part (14), which in the clamping position projects beyond the second gripper jaw (12). The orientation of the first and second gripper parts (13, 14) of the first gripper jaw (11) relative to one another is variable and can be adjusted by a control means (40). It is thus possible for the second gripper part (14) to interact, for example, with a conveying support (51) of a removal arrangement (50), in order for the articles (10) to be stabilized during transfer to the removal arrangements and for the articles thus to be discharged in a controlled manner. |
