The unit consists of a case (10), which forms the location housing for the filter (16), such that the air flow (A) is through the filter. The case consists of a side wall (12), which is provided with an access opening (22), which is provided to allow the filter to be put in place. The opening is generally rectangular in shape and is limited by two larger sides (24) and two short sides (26). The opening is sufficiently large to allow the filter to pass through. The access opening is designed to be closed off after fitting the filter by a cover plate (28), which is designed in a rectangular form and has dimensions which are sufficient to completely cover the opening. The internal face (34) of the cover plate is designed so that the outer edge comes into contact with the wall of the casing. This internal face of the cover plate also carries anchorage legs (36), which are designed to engage in the notches (38) formed in the side wall of the case.
