The equipment consists of cable pulling and cable brushing sections. The cable pulling section (4) has motor driven pinions (46,47) which are synchronised and adjustable laterally to grip the cable efficiently and move it longitudinally through guides (79,80). The cable brushing section (4) has three brushes (5,6,7) which are carried on columns (8,9,10) mounted between flanges (11,12). The brushes are displaced longitudinally to increase the brushed area and are adjustable radially by a lever mechanism to accommodate different cable sizes. A hollow shaft (14) driven through a pulley (16) imparts an epicycloidal motion to the brushes, (5,6,7) through a toothed wheel (37).
