FIELD: electrothermics. SUBSTANCE: invention makes it possible to sustain more accurately electrotechnological mode of operation of furnace by means of more precise correction of dosage of reducing agent with allowance for relation of key controlled parameter - content of POin slag with electrical parameters, analysis of mistakes in dosing of other components of burden - phosphorite and quartzite and suppression of influence of transition process over channel "burden - slag". For achievement of this object well known method of control including analysis and measuring of components of burden loaded into furnace, maintenance of specified electric mode by movement of electrodes and switching over of voltage stages of furnace transformer, determination of content of POin slag, averaging of mentioned parameters within specified time interval and correction of quantity of reducing agent in burden by deviation of content of POin slag is introduced with some changes, namely: current of electrode is set depending on working capacity of furnace and content of POin slag, averaging of this parameter is carried out with due account of inertial control object in channel "burden - slag". Change in quantity of reducing agent is determined by mathematical formula. Besides it position of working end of electrode in working (carbon) zone is controlled.
