<p>Waste body fluids are sterilised using a container (3), fed by an inlet pipe (4) and having an outlet (5) for the treated material with a valve (6) and a pipe (7) for introducing a predetermined quantity of disinfectant. After determining the quantity of liq. in the container (3) the quantity of disinfectant required to treat it in a given time calculated. The disinfectant is then added, and the appropriate time for treatment is allowed to elapse. The container can be heated during the treatment period by immersing it in a chamber (23) contg. a heating fluid, and after the container has been emptied, it can be rinsed with a disinfectant soln. The appts. can be computer-controlled, with valves operated remotely.</p> |
