<p>The ice cube tray has a conventional base formed of multiple compartments that are filled with water. The compartments have sloping side walls and rounded edges to facilitate removal of the ice cubes from the tray. The tray is covered with a grid (3). The grid has downward facing projections positioned over the centre of each compartment in the tray. The projections (4) are tapered and have a rounded tip (5). They are made of plastic. To remove ice cubes, the covering grid is removed, leaving holes in the top of each ice cube. A tool with laterally extendible grips is inserted in the hole and used to lift out the ice cube.</p> |
