This optical transmission module is provided with: a substrate having an opening penetrating the substrate in the vertical direction orthogonal to the surface direction; an optical element, which is disposed to cover the lower surface-side opening in the substrate, and which converts electrical signals into optical signals or converts optical signals into electrical signals; an optical fiber that transmits the optical signals; a ferrule, which is disposed to cover the upper surface-side opening in the substrate, and which has an optical fiber inserting hole for holding the optical fiber by having the optical fiber inserted therein; and a resin applied to a space surrounded by at least the substrate, the optical element, the ferrule, and an leading end of the optical fiber. The ferrule is provided with a resin applying hole for filling the space with the resin, said resin applying hole being formed by being separated from the optical fiber inserting hole. |
