The interposition of a coupling mechanism which engages for one direction of rotation and releases for the other 4 makes it possible to detect and deflect the phenomenon of storage towards a generator 3 and electric or hydraulic accumulator 6. This accumulated energy may be used again, assisting or replacing the heat engine. By means of suitable brake gear (steering gear, flange mounting) and couplings, it may be supplemented with regenerative braking. The coupling point may be located from the crank shaft to the drive wheels. According to the design chosen, the generator set and the motor (auxiliary) may be physically the same. <IMAGE>
