Retractable bodywork for articulated lorry

The articulated lorry bodywork structure comprises a pair of beams supporting a platform (6) surmounted by a cell formed by a frame supporting a cover. The frame (8,10,12) comprises several transverse porticos (10) equipped at their base with carriages (24) guided along longitudinal rails (4) edging the platform. Several lateral frames (14) are concertina hinged (14,30). These frames are firstly hinged in pairs and secondly on a portico upright. The frames can either be developed to extend along the whole length of the platform, or be retracted by folding to reduce the obstruction and free the major part of the platform. The frames provide the cell with a stiffness and stability when deployed. They constitute either device of tensioning a tarpaulin or a frame on which rigid plates can be connected.
