A seal arrangement (Fluid concentrator)

The seal for a rotating shaft has a sealing face provided with a plurality of grooves in which a sealing fluid is held by counter-balanced centrifugal and pressure differential forces as the seal rotates to form a seal between the sealing face and a wall of the shaft housing. The grooves can be of constant width and/or not radially disposed. The seal may be used as a vacuum seal in a compressor for compressing steam in a milk concentrator apparatus. Claims: 8 Fig.: 13
