An elevator interlocking mechanism, having interlocking of the elevator (1) cage door and interlocking of each landing door (48), comprises operating means for releasing the interlockings when the elevator cage (1) is at rest at a landing. In this case the elevator cage interlocking comprises an elevator door locking rod (8), which in a locking position engages a lock pin (11), which prevents the elevator cage door from being opened, each landing interlocking including a corresponding landing door locking rod (32), which in a locking position engages a locking pin (38), which prevents the landing door from being opened. Thereby, the locking rods (8, 32) are jointly operated by a single operating means (2, 4) in such a manner that the operating means at a proper landing position displaces the elevator locking rod (8) from its locking position, this locking rod (8) in turn displacing the landing door locking rod (32) from its locking position by means of a cam (30) rigidly connected to said latter locking rod (32).
