The invention concerns a method used in conjunction with a tree-handling arrangement which is intended in particular for mechanical felling, which has an operating device 1 which operates essentially with pressure medium and comprises at least inclination members 1a for inclining the tree-handling arrangement essentially in a vertical plane, drive members 1b for turning z the tree- handling arrangement about an essentially vertical axis, grip members 1c for gripping the tree which is to be processed, and cutting members 1d for cutting the tree which is to be processed. The said members are used by means of a logic unit 2 which functions with pressure medium and which is preferably connected to the tree- handling arrangement, through control with a drive unit 3 which is preferably essentially separate from the tree- handling arrangement. Displacement members 1e belonging to the operating members 1 of the tree-handling arrangement X, intended in particular for harvester use and intended to move the tree and preferably also working members 1f, intended to lop off the branches of the tree, are used via the said logic unit 2 which is controlled with the aid of a valve group 3a belonging to the said drive unit 3. The invention also concerns a tree-handling arrangement using this method. <IMAGE>
