The seal comprises an annular gasket (7) mounted between two concentric sleeves has, at the opposite end, a sealing lip acting against the wall of a rotating section. The action of an annular plunger (10), due to fluid pressure passing through transverse drillings in an internal sleeve (9), pushes the gasket. The gasket is in a plastomer and has a longitudinal section with an angled profile. An outer metallic sleeve (8) has a similar but inverted profile, towards the rotating part of the valve. The outer sleeves together with the packing piece and in conjunction with the inner metallic sleeve form a slide which is acted upon by the fluid pressure passing through the radial drillings (9a) in the inner ring.
