A method for managing disease treatment in a population of patients undergoing drug therapy which comprises monitoring the patients' drug consumption through claims for pharmaceutical cost reimbursement and intervening in the disease treatment in accordance with predetermined intervention strategies, the particular intervention being dependent upon each patient's drug consumption.
