The present invention discloses an apparatus to eliminate and to prevent formation of marine incrustations in marine structures at open seas. The apparatus comprises a plurality of substantially rigid rings which include floats, a roller hammer, brushes and blades. The apparatus is disposed about the structure under operating conditions thereof. The apparatus oscillates in response to waves and, at the same time, rotates due to the tide or current actuating on the blades. This causes the apparatus to strike, and have a rubbing effect, against marine adherences on the structure, thereby cleaning the same. When the structures are cleaned, the roller hammer which is used to detach hard adherences is dismantled and the brushes are introduced to eliminate new adherences by rotation. In another embodiment of the present invention, when the apparatus is utilized for horizontal structures, the floats are dismantled and the blades are fixed to a predetermined angle to achieve an optimum exploitation of natural forces.
