PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can avoid a deterioration in image quality caused by an external additive remaining on an image carrier, while suppressing consumption of a toner containing the external additive.SOLUTION: Charging rollers 421 are in contact with rotating image carriers 41 to charge the image carriers 41. Developing voltage application parts apply a developing bias voltage including an AC component to developing rollers 431 in developing parts 43 when the charged image carriers 41 rotate while no electrostatic latent images formed thereon, namely, are in a no-image rotation state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
