The arrangement consists of a small plate with a central slot. The thickness of the slot is slightly more than twice the wall thickness of the tube, which is to be emptied, when it is flattened while the width of the slot is slightly more than the width of the flattened tube The plate has a semi-circular extension at one side which can be used to push the metal of the tube into the dome shaped end of the tube which lies immediately behind the screw top. Extensions can also be provided at either side of the slot so that these move into the dome shaped space automatically when the plate is slid over the length of the tube
