METHOD OF VOLUME MODIFICATION OF POLYMERIC MATERIALS

FIELD: volume modification by functional agents of polymeric materials in solid state for imparting specified new physicochemical properties. SUBSTANCE: polymeric material is heated within the temperature range of relaxation alpha - transition to a temperature of lower than the point of its melting or destruction. Within the specified temperature range the material is treated by vapors of modifying agent at a partial air pressure of not higher than 10,000 Pa. Material is heated to the temperature of one of the relaxation alpha - transitions with due account made for the required degree of material saturation with modifying agent. Only a section of material may be subjected to modification. After modification material or its section may be heated and evolved vapors of modifying agent may be evacuated.
