Concrete sand washing assembly which recovers fine sand and regenerates water for reuse for sand washing

During the preparation of concrete, sand is washed with water and then discharged bearing a significant load of organic particles, sludge and fine grained sand of 1 mm. The water is treated in an assembly consisting of a settlement basin (1) with a first assembly (6) discharging a flocculant agent to the water and a second discharge unit (5) for the polluted water. The settlement basin (1) has an overflow (2) for treated water and a sludge scraper (3) at its base. The settlement basin (1) incorporates a flow classifier (4) with a conical container mantle. The incoming flow of cloudy water (5) is discharged direct towards the flow classifier. Solids emerging from the flow classifier (4) cone may be removed and liquid is removed by an overflow. A conical mantle (8) is arranged concentric with and outside the flow classifier (4), at the upper end of which is a raised collar (9) over which no flow takes place, and extending downwards over one section of the flow classifier (4). The flow classifier (4) wall and mantle (8) form a circular canal (10) through which flows the overflow from the flow classifier (4).
