Battery powered warning lamp e.g. for traffic cone

The lamp has, on the base of its support housing, a central recess (38) to fit on to a peg (40) on the top of a support post (10) or on the top of a traffic cone. A horizontal locking bar (44) is located through a hole in the post and through in line holes through the recess. This securely clamps the lamp unit, especially the heavy battery section. The batteries straddle the recess and connect to contacts inside the lamp housing. Alternately the batteries are replaced by a connector with a cable (48) to connect to a remote battery pack eg. inside the base of the post/cone.
