<p>The process for recovering an organic hydroxide from waste solutions containing the organic hydroxide and impurities comprising: one (A1a-A1b), (A2) and (A3), (A1a) precipitating the hydroxide as a salt and (A1b) removing the salt and forming a second solution; (A2) either (A2a1) charging waste to preliminary cell having at least anode and cathode compartments, with a size selective divider and passing current to migrate impurities through divider; (A2a2) recovering a second solution from the cell; or (A2b1) forming a first solution containing onium salt and impurities; (A2b2) contacting the solution with a size selective membrane under pressure to give a second solution with reduced amount of impurities; (A3) contacting the waste solution with a metal ion scavenger either before or after (B) and (C); (B) charging the second solution from (A1b), (A2a2) or (A2b2) or the waste solution from (A3) to a primary cell having at least cathode and anode with a divider to regenerate and recover the organic hydroxide from the primary cell.</p> |
