An axial bearing (1) is supported by a disc (2) with an L-shaped edge flange (3). The flange (3) has a series of cut-outs (6) forming tongues between the root and tip (4) of the material. One or more of the tongues (4) are bent at right angles to the flange (3). The tongue side edges (4) bear parallel embossed linear marks (7) from tongue root to tip.
