Ready to use composition for oxidation dyeing of keratinic fibres, especially human hair, comprises, in a suitable medium: (a) at least one p-phenylenediamine, bis-phenylalkylenediamine or their acid addition salts as oxidation base; (b) at least one meta-diphenol type coupler or its acid addition salt; (c) at least one direct cationic dye of formula (I); and (d) at least one oxidising agent. R = H or 1-4C alkyl; R = H, alkyl (optionally substituted by CN or NH2) or 4'-aminophenyl; or R+R = a heterocyclic group containing N and/or O and optionally substituted by one or more 1-4C alkyl; R, R = H, halo (such as Cl, Br, I or F), 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or CN; X<-> = an anion, especially chloride, methyl sulphate or acetate; B = a group (a) or (g) etc.; R = 1-4C alkyl; and if R and R form a N-containing heterocycle, or if R and R = 1-4 C alkyl or 1-4 C alkoxy, or if R = 4'-aminophenyl, then B may also be a group of formula (l). |
