Processing, recording and reconstruction of high definition analogue video signal

The video data is digitised to form a matrix at a predefined resolution. The video data is normalised to ensure generation of a normalised digital matrix at low resolution. Matrix windowing is applied to the normalised digital image data to produce a square format. The luminance tables are modified to produce an optimum contrast and the signal filtered to improve image quality. Selected parts of the image are magnified using a zoom effect to produce a high quality representation of the entire image, which can then be displayed as a high resolution image on a monitor.
