Drying natural gas

Drying a gas, especially natural gas, using a glycol comprises feeding the gas to an absorber (1), in which the gas is contacted with the glycol which removes some moisture from the gas and impurities, removing the gas from the absorber and the water-charged and contaminated glycol and regenerating the glycol, whilst the water is driven off by heating, mixing the contaminated glycol with half the water, heating the mixture to above the cloud point and maintaining for a prescribed time to sediment out impurities and removing the impurities and water by heating, and feeding the regenerated glycol to the absorber. Also claimed is the apparatus used for the above process.
