Assembly to sterilise, fill and seal containers

An assembly to sterilise, fill and seal containers has a sterilisation chamber (12), a chilling chamber (13) and a filling and sealing chamber (14), through which the containers are moved by a conveyer belt (25). The assembly has an inlet (17) and an outlet (18) for the containers. Prior to the commencement of the production operation, the chambers are flushed with a sterilising gas which enters via the inlet (17) and leaves via the outlet (18). The novelty is that the direction of sterilisation gas is reversed a number of times throughout the sterilisation process by a reversible blower (37).
