Using haptic feedback on a touch device to provide element location indications

Haptic feedback is used on a device to give a indications as to the location and/or function of user interface (UI) elements presented on the screen of the device.

1. An apparatus, comprising:
a first side and a second side; at least one memory that is not a transitory signal and that comprises instructions executable by at least one processor to: determine a user's body portion is proximate but not in physical contact with a first region on a touch-enabled display controlled by the at least one processor and disposed on the first side; responsive to a determination that the user's body portion is proximate but not in physical contact with the first region, generate first haptic feedback using a haptic element controlled by the at least one processor and the first haptic feedback having at least a first tactile characteristic; and generate the first haptic feedback at the second side upon an invocation of a user interface (UI) without first determining that the body portion is hovering over the UI.
