FIELD: decontamination of liquid medium, especially, potable water, and also household, industrial and agricultural sewage. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of liquid medium flow by at least one constant magnetic field. Liquid medium flow rate is equal to 0.1-10.0 m/s, and constant magnetic field is created with magnetic induction vector directed perpendicularly to liquid medium flow, and its value exceeds 0.02 Tl. Magnetic field may be created by pair of flat magnets positioned diametrically to liquid medium flow, with opposite poles directed towards each other. Magnetic field may be created along liquid medium flow in several adjacent sections with magnetic induction vectors shifted relative to each other through an angle alpha = 180 deg/n, where n is number of magnetic fields.
