A plastic cap for fastening a glass body of a discharge tube of a compact fluorescent lamp in a certain position by a binding material has the cap able to be fastened by a socket of a fluorescent lamp. It has a front plate which seals off the inner chamber from the hollow housing or a part of the hollow housing of the socket of the lamp in the direction of the discharge tube. Surface sections are formed on the front plate to position at least some tube ends of the glass body of the discharge tube. The surface sections have at least two tube ends and, optionally, formed also to increase the mechanical strength of the glue connection between the tube ends and the cap. Seats with closed walls are recessed at least partly without holes or openings into the front plate (12) of the cap (10) in an arrangement which corresponds to the geometry of the glass body of the discharge tube.
