Superconductive materials are produced in massive and/or thick film form by infiltration of a preform body consisting at least partially of fibers. Preferred Features: The fibers may comprise rare earth oxides which react with an infiltration phase containing barium and copper for forming a superconductive compound belonging to the (Y, Ln)-Ba-Cu-O system. The fibers may be in the form of a long preform body, e.g. a rod, wire, strip, yarn or rope, or a flat preform body, e.g. a cloth, woven fabric or felt.
