A mesh fitting for a notice board has the board mounted in a wooden frame with pins (16) spaced along the edges. A string pattern is looped over the pins to form a diagonal mesh. The free ends of the string are hooked to either end of a wire tensioner (22) to tension the mesh. Large flat items are easily wedged into the mesh without separate fasteners or pins. The frame is made in two sections to clamp the mesh and the pins.
