PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception terminal and a video acquisition method capable of improving quality of video to be viewed in a situation of a communication environment change.SOLUTION: A reception terminal 10 compatible with adaptive streaming includes: an acquisition control unit 11 which changes a bit rate of a segment to be acquired according to a communication environment; a buffer retention unit 13 which retains a segment acquired by the acquisition control unit 11; and a content reproduction unit 14 which reproduces a segment retained by the buffer retention unit 13. When there is a margin before reproduction of the segment after acquisition of the segment of a first bit rate (for example, low bit rate), the acquisition control unit 11 performs segment reacquisition at a second bit rate (for example, high bit rate) which is higher than the first bit rate, to perform substitution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
