PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary underwater garbage storage method that keeps garbage in wastewater in a container so that it can be stored for a fixed number of days with no malodors and bugs and also keeps foul nonflammable trash in the wastewater so that it is cleaned. SOLUTION: When garbage 12 and wastewater 13 are thrown in a container 1, part of the wastewater 13 above a preset level in the container 1 is drained out with the garbage 12 still in the remaining wastewater 13 in the container 1. The container 1 is closed with a lid and the remaining wastewater 13 is drained out, so that the garbage 12 is kept there as it is.
