PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a woody fiberboard easy to be manufactured by stabilizing a dimensional accuracy and a product density. SOLUTION: When a mixed material A is conveyed to a position of a suction conveying unit via a belt conveyor, the unit sucks the material A and conveys the material A to a position directly above a hot press 10. Thereafter, suction of the unit is stopped, and the material A is placed on a lower pressing die 13 of a lower mold 11. Then, the die 13 is lowered, and stopped at a position corresponding in bulkiness of the material A to that of an end of the mold 11. Simultaneously, a vacuum pump P is driven, and air in the material A is started to be sucked via a stretchable tube 15, a communication hole 13b and upper openings 13a. At the same time, an upper pressing die 17 is lowered to heat and pressurize the material A to hot press the material A. Thus, the woody fiberboard is molded.
