ERROR MEASURING SPHERICAL BALL AT WORK SPACE OF COMPUTER NUMERICAL CONTROLLING MACHINE TOOL AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A spherical ball artifact and a method of measuring the error using the spherical ball are provided to promptly measure the thermal strain error by the heat generated during cutting process without any help of a worker. CONSTITUTION: A vertical or horizontal spherical ball artifact comprises:a vertical or horizontal jig(20) installed on a pallet(10) of a machine tool; a master plate(30) installed obliquely for easy installation of the spherical ball to the jig; balls(50) three dimensionally aligned on the master plate via many bars(40) having different length from each other; and a contract probe(60) placed in the front of the balls and installed on the spindle(70) of the machine tool.
