PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily addable a disk cache function to an existent system and to guarantee cache managing information or disk cache data without newly adding a new power source backup device to the system. SOLUTION: A small computer system interface(SCSI) controller 1 is the control part of an SCSI for connecting a high-order host device and magnetic disk devices 3-5, and a semiconductor disk device 6 provided with a battery 7 for power source backup is connected to the same SCSI bus as the magnetic disk devices 3-5. Corresponding to access from the host device to the magnetic disk devices 3-5, the SCSI controller 1 accesses the semiconductor disk device 6 when there is cache hit, and accesses the magnetic disk devices 3-5 when there is no cache hit.
