The invention relates to the devices for dead lock of ribbon-shaped materials to determine tensile strength thereof. The offered device is characterised in that the jaws (2) of clamping device (5) in materials testing machine are provided with intermediate pressure plates (3) by fastening these plates to the surface of jaws with glue. The modulus of elasticity of said plate (3) in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sample is lesser than the elasticity modulus of sample. The phasing of jaws complies with the shape of sample (6) fastened with glue (5) to the drop-like body (4).
