PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for regenerating electric power from a progressive wave tube. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a progressive wave tube 20 having an electron gun 22, a low speed wave structure 24, an electron beam focusing structure 26, a collector 100 comprising a plurality of collector electrodes 102-112, its power supply source 150, and a power conversion device 210. A signal input port B of the power conversion device 210 is connected with one electrode 112 that actuates at a potential lower than that of a negative electrode on the plurality of collector electrodes, electrons with relatively high energy are collected to form current flowing into the signal input port B of the power conversion device 210 and the power conversion device 210 converts this current to useful power on a signal output port A.
