PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for oral cavity, capable of preventing coloring of toothbrush hair due to a natural pigment compound, improved in aesthetic property and having high commercial value by compounding polyvinylpyrrolidone into a composition containing a natural pigment compound. SOLUTION: Polyvinylpyrrolidone is compounded, preferably in an amount of 0.01-1 wt.% in a composition containing a natural pigment compound (e.g. caramel), preferably in an amount of 0.0001-0.01 wt.% based on whole composition to provide the objective composition. A material having 40,000-50,000 weight average molecular weight and 5,000-20,000 number-average molecular weight is preferable as polyvinylpyrrolidone. The composition can be prepared in dentifrices such as tooth paste, wet dentifrice or liquid dentifrice and mouthwash agent, etc. An abrasive (e.g. sedimentary silica), a viscolizer (e.g. glycerol), a binder (e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose sodium), a surface-active agent (e.g. sodium lauryl sulfate), etc., can be compounded into the composition.
