PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a baked compact capable of utilizing a grinder sludge as an industrial resource and excellent in strength and hardness without losing the shape, a body clay for the baked compact, a glaze and a baked compact having a glaze layer. SOLUTION: This baked compact is obtained by mixing and kneading 1-50 wt.% of a grinder sludge which is a unique metal having an indeterminate irregular surface with 50-99 wt.% of a clay, providing a body clay, forming the body clay into a desired shape and carrying out the drying, oxidizing baking or reducing baking of the formed compact. The baked compact is suitable as a tile, a brick, a pottery, a roofing tile, an artificial stone, etc.
