PURPOSE: For electron discharging substance layer which discharges electrons from cathode-ray tube, the electron discharge amount is suddenly decreased after a certain time. Because of rare earth metal in the electron discharging substances, this prompts the sintering of oxide in the cathode operating temperature. Cathode for electron tube in which the electron discharging capacity is not lowered despite long hours of use. CONSTITUTION: In the cathode, the cathode-ray tube is composed of metal matrix(21) and electron discharging layer(22) including alkali earth metal oxide on top of the metal matrix, the electron discharging layer is formed to include additional La oxide, Mg oxide, and Sc oxide. This electron discharging layer prompts the creation of Ba isolation and decreases Ba evaporation site and keeps discharging enough electron. The cut off drift feature change can be controlled.
