PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling lifting device having a structure enabling the ceiling height to be changed, and a structure realizing preferable use environment of the compartment by using the structure. SOLUTION: This ceiling lifting device comprises a roof plane member 3, a standing member 4, a window roof plane member 7, a step plane member 8, a lifting member 6, and driving means 9. The vertically movable roof plane member 3 and the retractable standing member 4 are connected by a hinge to one another at a position at which a part of the panel that configures the ceiling of a compartment 1 is separated. The window roof plane member 7 is connected to the roof plane member 3 so that it can be opened and shut; it is opened to a position parallel to the roof plane member 3 by being flipped up from the vertical direction to the horizontal direction; and when it is shut, it configures the vertical wall of the compartment 1. The retractable step plane member 8, positioned on the same plane as the window roof plane member 7, constitutes the lower portion of the vertical wall. The lifting member 6, with one end thereof connected to the movable roof plane member 3, stands up and is retracted interlocked with the movement of the standing member 4. The driving means 9 is capable of flipping up the window roof plane member 7.
